Chattahoochee River
National recreation area is one of the great vacation destinations
for you if you want a nice relaxing riverside vacation in Georgia.
The main recreation
activity in the park is boating. You can kayak or canoe lazily
through the river as you enjoy amazing views of the river banks which
are decorated with wildflowers. During the trip of your boat,
combining wildlife watching and fishing is also a wise idea.
At Chattahoochee River
National recreation area, fishing is a year-round activity. Night
fishing is not allowed. You can go fishing from thirty minutes before
sunrise to thirty minutes after sunset if you have a license of
Georgia fishing. Here, catfish, trout, and bass are few commonly
found species in the waters.
Guided canoe trips and
fitness services are organized in the park for the advantage of
visitors. Special rafting, canoeing, hiking, and programs are also
conducted for learning disabled youth. Biking is another famous
activity among visitors to the park. The Cochran Shoals area has some
designated riverside trails for biking. The area offers great bird
watching opportunities also.
As the Chattahoochee
River National recreation area is one of the great
places to visit in Georgia for vacation, there are few things
you must know before you set out to explore the river. While wading,
boating, or tube floating between Morgan Falls Dam and the boat ramp
as well as the Buford Dam and GA 20 Highway Bridge, you must always
wear the US Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices. If you
are boating in any other section of the river, you must always have
US coast guard approved floating devices on board and must make your
young ones wear wearable flotation devices at all times.
